The Harvey Danger Database is—or at least it aspires to be—the definitive codex of information about the late, great Seattle band Harvey Danger (1992–2009).
It is an archive, a resource, a monument, and a love letter.
Drawing from scattered sources, long-lost websites, and various ephemera (both analogue & digital), the HDDB is here to collect, preserve, and present the creativity, passion, and brilliance behind one of the most unique & underrated rock bands of all time. And certainly one of my most favourite.
RIP Aaron. HD forever.

Help Wanted
If you have any HD-related information that doesn’t appear on this site—or which corrects/contradicts anything here—and especially if it comes from a primary or secondary source, I would be deeply grateful if you’d email z@hddb.xyz with as many details as possible.
“Legal” disclaimer
All substantive content in the HDDB is owned by Harvey Danger, and/or one or more of its members, and/or one or more of its record labels; past, present and/or future. Which is to say: none of it belongs to the HDDB, an entirely non-commercial—dare I even say academic—enterprise. None of this means I can’t get sued, of course… but at least I’ll be the plucky underdog.
Colophon + Endnotes
- Fonts used: Peridot (designed by Kostas Bartsokas and Pria Ravichandran) and Hackney (designed by Ellen Luff).
- This is a static website built with Middleman to be simple and fast. It consists of plain HTML, cosmetic CSS, and de minimis JavaScript. It is, quite deliberately, a throwback to the Web of the 1990s. In the spirit of things. You get it.
- Non-HD projects by individual band members, while beloved, are regrettably out of scope for this project. I had to draw the line somewhere.
- For mainly legal reasons, the HDDB hosts no copyrighted music files. The primary focus here is consolidating factual details, obscure trivia, and other information best presented in a text-based format. I’m not trying to get busted under the DMCA, and I sure wouldn’t be the first Harvey Danger site to go dark for that reason (pour one out for the O.G., Hardly Dangerous…).
- This endeavour is the spiritual successor to, incorporates, and supersedes the annotated King James Version I compiled and published 20 years ago. That page, now obsolete, remains extant for archival (and sentimental) purposes only.
