Lyrics
There is a price tag on everything
Some kinda phone call, tin cans, and a mile of string
Once you have bad credit, you never forget you had it
The supermodels are super-endowed
If that’s your statement, your voice is too loud
Fashion is the art of brainwashing the proud
the shocking elevation
[???????]
the holy exaltation
the transubstantiation
This is the thrilling conversation you’ve been waiting for
Arrayed in platitudes just to hear the sound
My verbs are everywhere, I stand down
Is this the fascist expurgation?
the people’s liberation
the teen emancipation
the dissolute plantation
This is the thrilling conversation you’ve been waiting for
This is the thrilling conversation you’ve been waiting for

Quotes
Sean: The intro spiel was meant as a kind of self-aware homage to “Lost Ones” by Ms. Lauryn Hill (note “the reggae affectation”), as an expression of the sheer volume of seven-syllable phrases ending in “-ation” that had amassed in my lyrics notebook by the time we recorded the song. Aaron was not fond of the song (I noticed this was often true of songs that featured his signature fuzzy bass lead lines), but I always thought it was a gem, and kind of the only natural stylistic heir to “Flagpole Sitta” we ever wrote or recorded.25B
